United Traditional Tae Kwon-Do Canada Inc. is a nationally registered organization. Originally formed by a group of three dedicated instructors in 2007, U.T.T.C. is committed to supporting the development and maintenance of the highest technical standards and ethics of member schools.
We teach and promote the original techniques and patterns as they were first introduced to the world by the International Tae Kwon-Do Federation masters. Since the 1980’s some schools and organizations (including the many factions of the ITF) have strayed from the original theory of power in favour of one that incorporates an up and down bobbing motion coined the “sine wave.” This shift in teaching erroneously replaced time tested biomechanical principals commonly practiced in every other sport activity requiring maximum force, and resulted in unnatural jerky movements and decreased power.
Many Tae Kwon-Do pioneers and 2nd generation instructors have become discouraged by technical degradation, political in-fighting and dishonest practices and have withdrawn membership from the ITF, becoming independent schools without national affiliations. U.T.T.C. is committed to welcoming instructors and schools into our organization that are student focused, wish to improve their technical knowledge and teaching skills, and interact with like-minded, dedicated professionals.
Our Board of Directors offers member schools and organizations access to more than 80 years of combined experience in Tae Kwon-Do.
We provide a wide range of services and products to member schools and instructors, including national rank testing and certification, instructor professional development and certification, optional group liability insurance, wholesale branded merchandise, as well as leadership training and opportunities for provincial directorship.
Leadership and organization is honest, fair and transparent. Fees are affordable for schools of all sizes.
